Summit 65

Wycombe Summit MTB Club - Summit 65 - 24th April 2010 
Summit MTB Club is working in partnership with Trail Break (The UK's premier MTB and cycle event specialists to promote the development of children in mountain biking, and a membership drive by Summit MTB Club – Ride the Chilterns)




The Summit Sixty-Five is a 65km MTB Enduro held in the heart of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The partnership adds two new exciting events to the successful Trail Break Southern Trail Ride format. Firstly, the Summit Sixty-Five is a 65km MTB Enduro held in the heart of the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Secondly, the Summit Go Ride is a 24km accompanied youth MTB ride for 10-16 year olds


Cycle Tech will be supporting as the race Mechanic.
For checks, adjustments and repairs.
Starting at the event HQ is the Princes Risborough School for 8:15 and moving on to feed station in Christmas common for 10:50
Parts avalible from the Mobile Workshop.

Disc Brake fix!
A couple of cyclists, who had removed there front wheel, to carry in the car! Had trouble with there front brakes, The brake lever had been pressed. After refitting there front wheel. The brake was binding.
The best way to stop this happening is to use a plastic wedge between the brake pads. (Supplied in replacement brake kits.)

One cyclist unable to ride! Due to aluminium spoke nipple corrosion. Aluminium nipples have about one-third the mass of a brass spoke nipple and save on the overall weight of a wheel-set. However, alloy nipples are not recommended in wet or salty riding conditions due to corrosion potential.
